සෝලියස් මැන්දිස් නම් වූ මහා සිත්තරාණෝ

විසිවැනි සියවසේ මුල්භාගය යුරෝපා ආභාෂය තදින්ම ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට බලපෑ සමයක් විය. දේශීයත්වය වෙනුවට විදේශීය විවිධත්වය අගැයීම එම යුගයෙහි ප්‍රචලිතව පැවතිණි. හෙළ සිතුවම් සම්ප්‍රදායද ඒ මඟ ඇදීයමින් ස්වභාවික දේ එලෙසම ඇඳීමේ යුරෝපා ශෛලියටම යොමුවී පැවතියේ ය. එහෙත් පෙරදිග සම්භාව්‍ය සම්ප්‍රදාය වූයේ ද ලාංකේය අනන්‍යතාව වූයේ ද ස්වභාවිකත්වය ඇසුරින් නිර්මාණාත්මක සිතුවම් කලාවක් බිහිකිරීමයි. එවන් සමයක විප්ලවවාදී සද්කාර්යයකට පුරෝගාමී වූ සිතුවම් ශිල්පියකු වූයේ කලාගුරු වලිමුණි සොයිලියස් (සෝලියස්) මැන්දිස් මහතා ය.
1896 ජූලි මස දොළොස්වැනි දින මාදම්පේ මහ බද්දේගම උපන් (සොයිලියස්) සෝලියස් මැන්දිස්ගේ පියා වූයේ ආයුර්වේද වෙද මහතෙකුවූ වලිමුණි සිරිනේලිස් මැනිදිස් මහතා ය. සිරෝ මැන්දිස් මහත්මිය සෝලියස් මැන්දිස් ගේ මෑණියන් විය. ඔහුට සහෝදර සහෝදරියන් අටදෙනෙක් විය. පිරිමි සොහොයුරන් වූයේ කොමලිස්, ලයලිස්, යුවලිස්, සරාලිස් සහ දාර්ලිස් ය. සොහොයුරියන් තිදෙනා වූයේ නේලිස්, ත්‍යාගරුචි සහ සේරා ය. දෙමාපියන්ගේ අදහස වූයේ ළදරු සොයිලියස් (සෝලියස්) වෛද්‍යවරයකු කිරීම ය. එබැවින් පියාණන් විසින් දරුවාට වෙදකම ද ක්‍රම ක්‍රමයෙන් දායාද කරන්නට විය.
සොයිලියස් (සෝලියස්) සිසුවාගේ මුල්ම පාසල වූයේ මාදම්පේ ක්‍රිස්තියානි පාසලයි. සත්වැනි පන්තිය දක්වා එහි ඉගෙනුම ලැබූ ඔහු අනතුරුව

කලාව අපට සත්‍යය වටහා ගැනීමට මඟ පෙන්වන බොරුවකි. 
 
නරක චිත්‍ර ශිල්පීන් කොපි කරති. හොඳ චිත්‍ර ශිල්පීන් සොරකම් කරති. 

මම ද්‍රව්‍ය දකින අයුරින් නොව ඒ ගැන සිතන අයුරින් ඒවා අඳිමි. 

මට රෆායෙල් මෙන් සිතුවම් ඇඳීමට වසර හතරක් ගතවිය. නමුත් ළමයෙක් මෙන් ඇඳීමට ජීවිත කාලයක්ම ගතවිය. 

සිතුවම් ඇඳීම අන්ධයෙකුගේ වෘත්තීයයි. ඔහු අඳින්නේ ඔහු දකින දෙය නොව ඔහුට හැඟෙන දෙයයි. ඔහු දුටු දෙය කුමක්දැයි ඔහුටම පවසන දෙයයි.

None of the Tiger Conservation Landscapes within the Bengal's tiger range is large enough to support an effective population size of 250.

The Bengal tiger is the most numerous of the tiger subspecies — with populations estimated at 1,706 in India, 200 in Bangladesh, 155 in Nepal and 67–81 in Bhutan.

The Bengal tiger is the national animal of Bangladesh. Panthera tigris is the national animal of India.
